Pier and beam houses brought back to level — Georgetown, Williamson County.
The old part of Georgetown has houses that were built before anybody around here had poured a slab. Some of them have been standing for well over a century, and they are still standing because pier and beam is forgiving — it moves, and it can be moved back.
What we find under them is usually a history rather than a single fault: original piers, a repair from the sixties, a couple of concrete blocks somebody pushed under in the nineties, and one corner that has been quietly dropping ever since.
Older Georgetown houses often have real architectural value, and that changes how the work is done rather than whether it is done. Original trim, plaster and floors do not forgive a house being lifted quickly. Bringing it back gradually costs a little more in days and saves the parts of the house that cannot be bought again.
We take the whole project, not just one part of it.
