Built to order, for sale, or rented to you — Austin, Travis County.
A backyard cabin makes more sense in Austin than almost anywhere else in the metro, for one unglamorous reason: the land is already expensive and already yours. Adding a dwelling to a lot you own is cheaper than buying a second lot with a house on it, and Austin has spent recent years making that easier rather than harder.
People here use them for a parent who should not be an hour away, for an adult child who cannot afford Austin rent yet, and as rental income on ground that is already paid for.
Access is the Austin-specific problem. Central Austin lots are deep and narrow, and the gap down the side of the house decides whether a finished cabin can be brought in whole or has to be built in place. We work that out before anything is agreed, because it is the difference between a delivery and a construction site.
We take the whole project, not just one part of it.
